Perris USD - Liberty HS Daily Monitoring PW Short Term R2.pdf
Summary: On January 10, 2021, the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) Board of Trustees approved the Liberty High School Aquatics Facility project. This project consists of a 33-meter pool along with equipment rooms and locker rooms which are currently being constructed at Liberty High School. This project is scheduled for completion in January of 2022. The Liberty Aquatic Facility will be the first of three (3) aquatic facilities currently in construction in our District to be completed. The Aquatic Facilities at Paloma and Heritage are scheduled to be completed in June of 2022, six (6) months after opening the Liberty Aquatic Facility. Once these are completed, and the District has three (3) new aquatic facilities to maintain, staff will identify the most cost-effective manner to maintain and monitor all three (3) of these facilities. The existing Perris High School Aquatic Facility will continue to be maintained by District Staff. Once the Liberty Aquatic Facility is turned over to PUHSD, monitoring, and inspection of the aquatic facility will be required on a daily basis. These services will continue for six (6) months to coincide with the opening of the Heritage and Paloma Aquatic Facilities. To properly maintain this facility, staff has requested a proposal from KNORR Systems, Inc. to perform the daily monitoring and inspection services. These services include daily site visits, water chemistry testing, adding chemicals to balance water chemistry, performing backwash, cleaning chemical injectors, and producing required maintenance reports to be produced for the District. The Liberty High School Aquatic Center's daily water monitoring and pump room inspection services will be provided by KNORR Systems, Inc. at the cost of $85,527.

The term of this Agreement shall begin upon receipt of signed Agreement and Purchase Order within 21 calendar days notice by the District to the Vendor, and in no case shall it begin before January 1, 2022.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with KNORR Systems, Incorporated for the Liberty High School Aquatic Center daily water monitoring and pump room inspection services.
