Summary:
|
Alisha Carlin, CTE Business Entrepreneurship Pathway teacher, requests approval to attend the DECA Amped+ MBA Conclave Conference in Denver, Colorado, October 13-16, 2023. This conference will be the best place to learn about many DECA topics, including competitive events, chapter development, project-based learning, school-based enterprises, and more. From express learning to interactive master labs, best practices exchanges, and keynote presentations, there are plenty of avenues towards enhancing the role of a teacher and DECA advisor. In addition, Ms. Carlin is a DECA representative for the State of California, and DECA partners with MBA Research to host DECA Amped+ during the MBA Research Conclave, allowing attendees to get the benefits of attending both conferences. Ms. Carlin will be able to participate in the MBA Research Conclave and select workshops designed for DECA advisors during the concurrent education sessions, allowing attendees plenty of options to put together a professional development plan that meets the specific needs of their district and school site.

The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through the Carl D. Perkins Career Technical Education Grant Fund, not the General Fund.
