Summary:
|
The Board of Trustees previously approved, and the District has undertaken the maintenance project known as the Heritage High School Greenhouse Repair Project, which consists of providing needed repairs to the greenhouse located at Heritage High School. On August 17, 2022, the Board of Trustees awarded the contract to Kira Construction, Inc. (Kira) in the amount of $59,487.24 for all services related to repairing the greenhouse. Additional repairs became evident during Kira’s completion of their scope of work. The District instructed Kira to perform the additional needed repairs to the greenhouse. This included the replacement of the electrical motor which lifts the roof vent (Change Order No. 1) and replacing the door and door frame, which had rusted (Change Order No. 2). The greenhouse is a vital part of the agriculture program at Heritage and as such needs these repairs to continue servicing the students that make up the agriculture program. Change Orders No. 1 ($2,575.37) and No. 2 ($4,354.57) were performed at a total cost of $6,929.94.
This is being brought before the Board as ratification due to the need to mitigate schedule impacts to the Heritage High School Greenhouse repair project and ensure an adequate environment for student learning.
