Summary:
|
Brianne Carson, teacher and cheer coach at Liberty High School, is respectfully submitting a request to the Board of Trustees for approval of the Liberty High School's Cheer Team to attend the World Class Cheer Camp at UCSB in Santa Barbara, California, July 26-28, 2024.
This camp provides an excellent opportunity for team and leadership development. The training that the team receives at camp by professional athletes provides a safe environment for elite skill development. The team also grows in unity and the bond that results from the camp experience, which sets the team up for success throughout the school year and in life. Additionally, attending camp on a university campus provides a small glimpse into campus living and university lifestyle, providing the students with an outstanding cheerleading training experience, team building, leadership development, and college preparation. The staff at WCC (World Class Cheerleading) does an excellent job facilitating all of this over the 3-day experience.
Approximately fifty (50) students and three (3) District-cleared chaperones will be transported to UCSB by bus. All students will have completed physical/medical clearances and signed parent permission forms. The final list of students will be submitted to the Liberty High School Athletic Director, Scott Moore, before departure. The total cost for the students to attend the camp will not exceed $22,250.00.
