CPT. David Sibley, the Senior Military Instructor, has submitted an overnight field trip request for CMI cadets to participate in the California Cadet Corps Individual Major Award Competition at Camp San Luis Obispo, California, January 27-29, 2023.
The California Cadet Corps conducts an Individual Major Award Competition that provides cadets with various challenges over various cadet-related subjects and recognizes the top competitor in each category while celebrating the achievements of all cadets performing. The CCC will conduct an Individual Major Awards that allows cadets to compete against other excellent cadets around the state while overcoming rigorous challenges and showcasing their underlying leadership abilities. This IMA will inspire determined cadets to explore all they can do while demonstrating their proficiency and knowledge of all California Cadet Corps topics. It will build character and confidence, instilling pride in future leaders.
Cadet Corp pays for cadet lodging and food; the only costs from the Charter's CMD-MOU budget will be transportation. Twenty (20) student cadets and two (2) chaperones will attend.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Charter CMD-MOU Fund, not the Charter General Fund.
