Summary: The District entered into an Agreement with the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) to accept pupils from other school districts with proper inter-district permits for attendance from the District of residence. The permit is valid only for the school year granted and shall furnish students the same advantages, equipment, supplies, and services as furnished to students in attendance in these classes, except for home-to-school transportation.

Inter-district transfers are granted under space availability and may be revoked at any time during the school year should the student’s academic grades, attendance, or behavior prove unsatisfactory to the District of attendance.

The Perris Union High School District and the Riverside County Office of Education have reached an agreement regarding inter-district transfer policies. The respective school districts will furnish the approved transfer pupil the same advantages, supplies, and regular instructional services as are furnished to the pupils in attendance in their respective schools, exclusive of transportation to and from schools unless special arrangements are previously agreed upon.

Either District has the right to revoke the Interdistrict Contract if the student does not comply with discipline, attendance, and/or academic expectations of the District providing Educational Services.

1. Each of the districts will accept insofar as facilities permit students who are residents of the other said district who have proper permits for attendance from the district superintendent or his designee of the school district of residence who are eligible to attend the classes of the schools operated by the district of attendance, and who are acceptable to the said district of attendance.

2 The respective school districts will furnish the said pupils the same advantages, supplies, and regular instructional services as are furnished to the pupils In attendance at their respective schools, exclusive of transportation to and from said schools unless special arrangements are previously agreed upon.

3. ln accordance with Education Code Section 46608( a ), the attendance or said pupils shall be credited as follows (check appropriate boxes): The attendance shall be credited to the district of attendance with the district of attendance assuming all costs of education unless other arrangements are jointly agreed upon. 

4. This Agreement shall be in effect for five (5) years from July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2027. Any district may terminate this Agreement effective at the beginning of a school year by giving written notice to the other districts at least three (3) months prior to the beginning of the school year.

This Agreement is being brought before the Board as ratification due to the untimely receipt of the Agreement from the Riverside County Office of Education.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Multi-Year Interdistrict Attendance Master Agreement with the Riverside County Office of Education for student interdistrict attendance.
