Summary:
|
Proposition 4, adopted in 1979, added Article XIII-B to the State Constitution and placed limits on the growth in appropriations made by the State of California and local governments, including school districts. Each year, pursuant to Education Code Section 42132, every California governmental entity must adopt a resolution identifying the estimated appropriations limit for the current fiscal year and establishing the actual appropriations limit for the prior fiscal year. The attached Resolution No. 03:23-24 - Resolution for Adopting the GANN Limit identifies the estimated appropriations limit for 2023-24 and the actual appropriations limit for the 2022-23 fiscal year. The GANN Appropriations Limit calculations are attached.
