Summary: On March 17, 2021, the Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. 14:20-21 - Resolution Authorizing Award and Piggybacking for Procurement of Furniture and Equipment for Liberty High School. This resolution was necessary because of the increased lead times for furniture and equipment due to COVID-19, and the critical deadlines to issue contracts and purchase orders to receive and install furniture and equipment prior to the opening of Liberty High School. The resolution authorized pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 10298, 10299, and 20118 Section 20118, allows for the utilization of Piggyback Contracts and other Cooperative Purchasing Agreements since these contracts and agreements have already been through a competitive process.

The Perris Union High School District issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) #032921 for Classroom and Ancillary Furniture to furnish Liberty High School on March 1, 2021. Twelve (12) proposals were received by the deadline of March 29, 2021. After a comprehensive review of all proposals by the selection committee and utilizing established scoring criteria, under the authority granted by Resolution No. 14:20-21, the District awarded RFP #032921 as follows:

Sierra School Equipment / $2,091,756.66
Virco / $42,622.34
Wenger / $22,263.58
Clay-King / $7,808.39
TOTAL AWARD - $2,164,450.97

The selected vendors are utilizing Piggyback Contracts and other Cooperative Purchasing Agreements as required by Resolution No. 14:20-21, each having been evaluated to determine validity. The proposals, bid documents, and applicable Agreements are available to review in the Purchasing Department.

Additionally, Teknion tables were originally awarded to ICE who later declined the partial award. Therefore, this product will be procured outside of RFP #032921.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2020-21 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify the Award of RFP #032921 for Liberty High School Classroom and Ancillary Furniture.
