Summary: The Nutrition Services Department along with the Murrieta Valley Unified School District, Menifee Union School District, Lake Elsinore School District and Perris Elementary School District requested bids for the purchase of Paper Products for the School Breakfast Program, Seamless Summer Program and the National School Lunch Program for the 2022-23 school year. The District received three (3) bids, one of which was considered non-responsive and therefore not considered. The bid opening was held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 1:15 p.m.

Responsive bids were submitted as follows:

VENDOR NAME: P & R PAPER SUPPLY COMPANY / $1,267,008.48 (total for all five Districts based on estimated usage)
VENDOR NAME: INDIVIDUAL FOOD SERVICE / $1,292,872.56 (total for all five Districts based on estimated usage)

After thorough review, the District is recommending the contract be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, P&R PAPER SUPPLY CO.

The term of this contract shall be for one (1) year from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023. The contract may be renewed annually upon mutual consent for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods for a maximum of three (3) years, in accordance with Education Code Section 81644.

This contract was bid and is being recommended for award pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through Nutrition Services, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the award of Bid #032822 - Paper Products for Nutrition Services to P&R Paper Supply Company.
