Summary: The Perris Union High School District would like to contract with Temecula Creek Inn for the 2022 PUHSD Administrative Leadership Professional Development Retreat. The Temecula Creek Inn will host the Perris Union High School District and Site Leadership Teams in the Olive Ballroom and Patio and provide breakout spaces in the Creekside Guest House, the Quarry Room, and the Meadows Outdoor Garden, along with catering services for breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshment.

The three-day retreat will include certificated and classified administrators and managers, site administrative teams, confidential administrative assistants, and site leadership teams that may consist of department chairs and/or teachers. This retreat will work to customize the Professional Learning Communities for each site based on current district learning goals and outcomes. The sessions will focus on deepening the understanding of W.I.C.O.R. strategies, focusing on reading and literacy. This retreat will allow for the preparation and planning of strategic processes and address critical next steps to further implementation. Each session will build on previous training and strategies provided. The District would like to build capacity among administration and site leadership in creating effective schools to address learning loss. When done, the goal is that administrators and educators within the organization will embrace high levels of learning for all students, which increases student learning outcomes. The training includes specific strategies to facilitate collaborative conversations around student learning, creating common assessments in all content areas and procedures to support the development of academic interventions for students.

The retreat shall be held from July 19, 2022, through July 21, 2022, for an estimated cost of $39,028.22.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Local Control and Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds and Title II Funds, not the General Fund.
