2023-2028 DSCTE Teaching Credential Program Agreement - Perris Union HSD (1).pdf
Summary: The District would like to partner with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools (RCSS) in a Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement for Participation in the Center for Teacher Preparation’s Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (DSCTE) Teaching Credential Program. RCSS sponsors a Commission on Teacher Credentialing accredited DSCTE Teaching Credential Program and is authorized to recommend preliminary DSCTE Teaching Credentials for its own program participants and program completers. The intent of the DSCTE Teaching Credential Program is to support and develop new CTE teachers during their first years in the profession leading to increased competence and retention. Each Teacher Candidate will meet an average of 1.5 hours per week with their Clinical Mentor, engage in reflective conversations and classroom observations, and receive high impact feedback. The DSCTE Program will authentically facilitate and enhance supportive and meaningful professional growth experiences for all teachers participating in the program. The term of this Agreement shall be for five (5) years beginning July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2028.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26, 2026-27, and 2027-28 operating budgets funded through Categorical Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement IN80699 with the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools for participation in the Center for Teacher Preparation’s DSCTE Teaching Credential Program.
