Summary: The Perris Union High School District requested multiple proposals for the Division of State Architects (DSA), Inspector of Record (IOR). After reviewing these proposals, the District would like to extend the contract for the DSA Inspector of Record Services to Ironwood Consulting & Inspection, Inc. for the Paloma Valley High School Campus Addition and Alterations Project. The IOR verifies that the construction of a project follows and adheres to the plans and specifications as approved by the Division of State Architects’ office. The duties of the IOR are defined in the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-342. In addition, the IOR works with the District team to mitigate the effects of construction activities and operations on a school site and to make sure all applicable safety standards are being followed. Specific to the Paloma Valley High School Campus Additions and Alterations Project, DSA is requiring the use of an Assistant Inspector in addition to the main Project Inspector. The DSA IOR services are provided through project completion and will be billed at an hourly rate of $98.00 for the Project Inspector and $89.00 for the Assistant Inspector, for an estimated cost of $1,069,092. The term of this Agreement shall be through the project duration, which is approximately forty-two (42) months starting in October 2023.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24, 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 operating budgets funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement for DSA Inspector of Record Services with Ironwood Consulting & Inspection, Incorporated for the Paloma Valley High School Campus Additions and Alterations Project.
