Dr. Casaundra McNair, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, requests permission for five (5) selected certificated and classified employees to travel through Kentucky, Ohio, Michigan, New York, and Ontario, Canada, June 18-25, 2024.
Footsteps to Freedom is a hands-on program that utilizes a pedagogy that focuses on transformational leadership and historical empathy, which is widely considered a vital leadership competency and the single greatest skill needed by leaders today. The program is designed as a transformative adult learning experience that expedites professional and personal growth. The program's foundation is the study tour and 8-day fully immersive learning experience that retraces the steps of freedom seekers from Kentucky to Canada.
The Footsteps to Freedom Tour will be sponsored and paid for by the PUHSD Ethnic Studies Fund, not the General Fund.
