Summary:
|
As a partner within the Riverside County Education Collaborative (RCEC), the Perris Union High School also participates in the California Student Aid Commission California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP) Riverside County Consortium. Through this program, the Cal-SOAP team provides additional support for students needing assistance with post-secondary options. The team provides assistance with college applications, FAFSA applications, college matriculation, and parent outreach. Funding for these supports is provided through Cal-SOAP. This year, the funds that are provided have not been completely exhausted, and the county is providing additional funding to districts to provide additional activities and support. The District is being provided with an additional $64,298.53 to support Cal-SOAP-eligible students (low-income). The district provided and will provide additional field trips for students in grades 7-12 for college visits, as well as additional parent nights and student matriculation support through June 30, 2023.
The term of this Agreement is from January 1, 2023, through June 30, 2023.
This item is being brought before the Board as ratification due to the untimely receipt of the Agreement from the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools.
