Summary:
|
Full-time School Resource Officers (SROs) have been in place at all four (4) comprehensive high schools since July 1, 2022, and at Pinacate Middle School since January 2024. This Agreement covers SROs for Perris High School, Liberty High School, and Pinacate Middle School, within the jurisdiction of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The City of Perris previously funded 50% of the SRO’s at Perris High School and Pinacate Middle School. However, they have informed the District that they will no longer be able to contribute to this cost sharing model. Therefore, if the District desires to keep SRO’s at both Perris High School and Pinacate Middle School, they will need to cover the full cost as included within this Agreement.
The term of this Agreement is for one (1) year, expiring June 30, 2026. Successive Agreements will be brought forward on an annual basis. The cost of the services provided under this Agreement is $627,000.
