Summary: The Perris Union High School District would like to continue to contract with Gaggle.Net, Inc. (“Gaggle”) for the purchase of Gaggle Safety Management.  Gaggle Safety Management for Google will be used to discover and alert staff to inappropriate words and images in Gmail, attachments, docs, and Drive files.  This includes an anti-pornography scanner and ensures compliance with all U.S. privacy and safety laws (Children's Internet Protection Act---CIPA; Children's Online Privacy Protection Act--COPPA; Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act--FERPA: and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act--HIPAA).

The cost for the 2021-22 fiscal year is $74,250.00.  Year 2 and year 3 costs are $74,250.00 per year and will be invoiced annually.  The term of each contract is listed below.

Contract Number Q-108372 beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022
Contract Number Q-110416 beginning July 1, 2022, and ending June 30, 2023
Contract Number Q-110417 beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024

The total amount for the three (3) Contracts is $222,750.00.  The cost will be split between the District and the California Military Institute (CMI) based on projected enrollment percentages for each school year.  The total cost for the District will be $201,487.50.  The total cost for CMI will be $21,262.50, which will be billed as a direct cost to CMI per the Memorandum of Understanding between the PUHSD and CMI.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 operating budgets funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Gaggle for the purchase of Gaggle Safety Management for Google.
