5.3 BUSINESS: Approval of Health and Welfare Benefit Increase for California Military Institute Management Employees

Summary:
|
PUHSD administration is recommending an increase to the health and welfare contribution for District Management employees. The Principal/Commandant position at CMI is an employee of PUHSD and would be provided the same benefits as PUHSD Management employees. However, the Assistant Principal/Executive Officer positions are employees of the charter school. To create parity, it is recommended CMI Management employees receive the same health and welfare benefits as PUHSD Management employees as follows:
- Effective July 1, 2021, the cap for single coverage will increase by $75, and the cap for two-party and family coverage will increase by $225. As a result, the Anthem cap for single coverage will become $10,775, the cap for two-party coverage will become $19,050, and the cap for family coverage will become $18,050. The Kaiser cap for single coverage will become $10,775, the cap for two-party coverage will become $16,750, and the cap for family coverage will become $15,750.
- Effective July 1, 2022, the cap for single coverage will increase by $350, and the cap for two-party and family coverage will increase by $800. As a result, the Anthem cap for single coverage will become $11,125, the cap for two-party coverage will become $19,850, and the cap for family coverage will become $18,850. The Kaiser cap for single coverage will become $11,125, the cap for two-party coverage will become $17,550, and the cap for family coverage will become $16,550.
- Effective July 1, 2023, the cap for single coverage will increase by $350, and the cap for two-party and family coverage will increase by $800. As a result, the Anthem cap for single coverage will become $11,475, the cap for two-party coverage will become $20,650, and the cap for family coverage will become $19,650. The Kaiser cap for single coverage will become $11,475, the cap for two-party coverage will become $18,350, and the cap for family coverage will become $17,350.
