Summary:

Captain David Sibley respectfully requests permission from the Board of Education to plan and execute an overnight field for sixty (60) CMI cadets and four (4) adult chaperones to participate in the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy on the California Military Institute campus, October 13-14, 2023.
Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA), to be hosted at the California Military Institute, will give student cadets a chance to experience the inner workings of leading others and learning the skills needed to become an officer. The purpose of NCOA is to train noncommissioned officers of the California Military Institute on how to become and lead as commissioned officers within the California Cadet Corps and CMI. This training will also teach them the core fundamentals of Commissioned Officers, such as utilizing leadership traits, training junior cadets, and working with them as officers. The NCOA cadets will experience a safe, military-style learning environment. Cadet instructors, adult staff, and NCOA cadets will arrive after school at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023. There is no cost to the cadets for attending this event. Food will be funded through the Charter CMD-MOU fund at a total cost not to exceed $1,000.
