Summary:

Heart and Goal, Inc. (H&G) is passionate about cultivating resilience skills through the lens of self-care and self-compassion. Their goal is to strengthen individuals within the education system, including students, staff, and families. Through H&G’s trauma-informed programs, participants can build their self-regulation, coping skills, connection, emotional agility, and stamina through experiential mindfulness/movement practices incorporated with SEL, which provides the opportunity for expansion and integration of these skills into daily life.
On October 7, 2021, the District entered into an Agreement with H&G in the amount of $8,000 in order to provide three (3) programs at Pinacate Middle School: Student PE Program with 15 weekly sessions, Tier 2 Student Program for eight (8) 40-minute session courses for student groups identified by counselor(s), and the Stepping Stones Program for five (5) professional development sessions for teachers. All programs include Yoga and mindfulness activities, and a Social-Emotional Skills focus. Programs include various levels or degrees of difficulty allowing participants to choose their level of comfortable participation.
Due to the programs’ success at Pinacate Middle School, the site would like to add eight (8) additional sessions to allow for another cohort of students to benefit from such an effective and rewarding program. This Amendment No. 1 adds the additional sessions to the contract, the dates these sessions will take place, and increases the contract amount by $3,000, making it a total cost of $11,000.
