Summary: The Perris Union High School District requests to continue the subscription with PowerSchool (formerly PeopleAdmin Incorporated) to provide services that will continue to improve the District's certificated hiring and screening processes through Candidate Assessment (formerly Educators Professional Inventory or EPI).

Candidate Assessment is a research-based predictive analytics tool that uses thousands of data points collected over time to help school and district leaders identify, hire and develop the best teachers and certificated administrators. Candidate Assessment uses candidates' assessment responses to measure each candidate's strengths and opportunities for growth in key areas highly correlated to improved student engagement and performance. The assessment results will be used to select high-quality, caring staff who will be dedicated to learning and connecting students to their education and potential goals. Moreover, the assessment results will also be used to help develop individualized support, with the intent of retaining teachers and minimizing teacher turnover.

By using Candidate Assessment, the District saves time by ensuring District administrators interview the most highly qualified candidates. Candidate Assessment helps remove the guesswork out of the teacher candidate's screening by measuring applicants' cognitive abilities, attitudinal factors, and pedagogical skills. Another key benefit of Candidate Assessment is that it would assist the district screen certificated administrator candidates by measuring applicants' leadership dispositions, ability to handle school administrator responsibilities, and leadership skills.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, at a total cost of $26,835.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through Various COVID Funds, not the General Fund.
