Summary: On February 12, 2022, the California Cadet Corps will be holding its Smallbore Marksmanship Competition at Camp San Luis Obispo.

The California Cadet Corps gathers for the Smallbore Marksmanship Competition at the San Luis Obispo Sportsman Association to conduct various physically/mentally challenging competitive events in a field setting that promotes teamwork and marksmanship skills.

The Commander intends to conduct a competitive marksmanship event that hearkens to one of the original cornerstone activities of the CACC. Cadets will be offered the opportunity to compete in a sage and rewarding skill-set that allows for individual accomplishments through contributing to the team effort. Cadets will have imparted a "safety always" approach to responsible firearm handling through the mentorship of experienced and qualified military and adult staff. The Smallbore Marksmanship Competition will focus on marksmanship principles and safety and IAW Cadet Regulation 3-17 and NRA Rules.

The Cadet Corps provides food and housing for all cadets attending the competition. The California Military Institute (CMI) will provide transportation with District vehicles. CMI staff will provide supervision throughout the event. Approximately fifteen (15) students and three (3) adults from CMI will attend the competition.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through the California Military Institute CMD-MOU Fund, not the Charter Fund.
