Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District, City of Menifee, and Menifee Police Department have agreed to share the cost for School Resource Officers (SROs) beginning July 1, 2022. A full-time SRO will be assigned to Paloma Valley High School, and a second full-time SRO will be assigned to Heritage High School. The District will be responsible for fifty percent (50%) of each SRO. The City of Menifee has agreed to cover the remaining fifty percent (50%).
The Menifee Police Department has selected two (2) SROs to fill these positions. They will work intermittently at Paloma Valley and Heritage through the remainder of the 2021-22 school year following Spring Break.
The term of this agreement is for five (5) years, expiring June 30, 2027. The cost to the District for 2022-23 will be $170,028. Costs will increase each successive year of service by the actual cost of the SROs, not to exceed 5%.
