Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District was awarded a five-year, $33,000 grant through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to implement the Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) program at Perris High School. The program aims to enhance educational opportunities for Black, Latinx, and low-income students, with the intent of increasing college-ready, on-track rates for these students. In October 2020, the Parties reached an agreement for the 2020-21 school year. In April 2021, the Parties reached a second MOU extending the implementation of BARR through the 2022-2023 school year.
The Perris Union High School District and the Perris Secondary Educators Association met to formalize and finalize the District’s consultation and negotiation obligations with the Association regarding the implementation of this program for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years. Both parties agree that the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding the Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) program implementation at Perris High School be extended through June 30, 2025.
