On March 28, 2022, the Perris Union High School District (“The District”) issued a formal Notice Inviting Bids for the Summer Painting Project (“The Project”). This project includes the complete painting of the entire Heritage High School campus including interior hallways in the Washington and Lincoln Buildings, entire exterior painting of the Perris Lake and PALS Campuses and the exterior of the C building at Pinacate Middle School. In an effort to alleviate the workload and take advantage of better pricing, bidders were instructed to provide two (2) bids as part of this project. This would allow the District the opportunity to select more than one (1) contractor depending on the price for each bid. Bid #1 was to include the cost for the work at Heritage High School; and Bid #2 was to include the cost for the work at Perris Lake High School, PALS, and Pinacate Middle School (PLHS/PALS/PMS). The bid opening was held on April 25, 2022. Bids were submitted as follows:

The bid documents of the apparent low bidder were reviewed for responsiveness and responsibility, and a post interview was conducted with said bidder. Pursuant to Public Contract Code 20111, the District is recommending the award of contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Tony Painting, Inc. for the PUHSD Summer Painting Project at Heritage High School, Perris Lake High School, PALS, and Pinacate Middle School.

The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through Restricted Maintenance Funds in the amount of $592,570, not the General Fund.
