Summary: On February 10, 2021, the Board approved the Multi-Year Agreement IN70031 for CTE instructors through June 30, 2024. This Modification No. 4 seeks to increase four (4) CTE instructors at Liberty High School at a cost of $114,483.00, including salary and benefits per teacher, and eliminate one (1) CTE instructor at Paloma Valley High School. This increases the total contract by $353,752.57 for the 2022-23 school year. The total dollar amount of the Agreement shall be $2,205,057.06 annually.

Below is a list of the additional CTE classes and the class eliminated per Modification No. 4:

1.0 FTE - Entrepreneurship Instructor (Liberty High School); 1.0 FTE - Patient Care - Emergency Medicine Instructor (Liberty High School); 1.0 FTE - Public Safety - Law and CSI (Liberty High School); 1.0 FTE - Systems Programming/Gaming Simulations Instructor (Liberty High School); Elimination of 1.0 FTE - Marketing Instructor (Paloma Valley High School)

This Modification No. 4 is in effect as of March 22, 2022. The term of the initial Agreement is from July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2024.

This item is being brought before the Board for ratification due to the need to commence recruiting for CTE instructors in an effort to have them in place by the start of the new school year.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 operating budgets funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify Modification No. 4 to Agreement IN-70031 with Riverside County Superintendent of Schools for an increase to Career Technical Education services.
