Summary: Renaissance STAR ELA and Math assessments provide teachers and staff with standards-based diagnostic and screening assessments to identify students who need additional support and intervention.

Renaissance provides the following services:
Screening - Make the most of instructional time by knowing who is performing above or at benchmark and who may need additional support or intervention. See valid, reliable data immediately after testing. Know how students are performing against the school, district, or state benchmarks so you can prioritize needs and allocate resources more effectively.
Renaissance assessments provided additional progress monitoring capabilities that aren’t available in other assessment programs. Typical Standards Based assessments don’t provide feedback for students testing below grade level. Renaissance will especially assist teachers and staff in charge of supporting English Learners and students with disabilities in monitoring English Language acquisition and IEP goals.
Goal Setting - Take the guesswork out of setting the right goals to motivate and engage every student. An embedded, research-based goal-setting tool helps teachers set reasonable, attainable goals. Confidently move students forward with a goal-setting tool with step-by-step directions and an intuitive user interface.
Progress Monitoring - Monitor students’ progress toward goals throughout the school year. Know if students in RTI/MTSS are responding to intervention in time to adjust instruction. See which students are meeting their goals and determine if students are responding to intervention with easy-to-interpret reports.
Standards Mastery - See who is on track to perform well on your state’s summative assessments. Renaissance dashboards show a unified measure of skill mastery based on your state’s standards. Data from Star Assessments and instruction and practice activities combine to provide a single, comprehensive view of student progress and growth.
Student Growth - Monitor achievement and growth with one report. SGP scores show how much students are growing, showcasing changes in scores between testing events. The Star Growth Report uses growth norms and SGP to show if growth was below, above, or on par.
Renaissance will provide 6 hours of remote professional development to teacher leaders and program administrators every year.

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2025, for a total cost of $29,725.44.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Charter Local Control and Accountability Plan Supplemental Concentration Funds, not the Charter General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Renaissance for the purchase of the Star ELA and Math assessments license subscription for the California Military Institute.
