Summary: Robert Brough, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, requests approval from the Board of Trustees to attend the 2022 Association for Career Technical Education's National CareerTech Vision Conference, November 30 - December 3, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, along with Dian Martin, Director of Learning Support Services, Julie Zierold, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and select certificated and classified employees.

ACTE's premier annual conference attracts thousands of secondary and postsecondary career and technical educators, business leaders, and industry professionals worldwide. Attendees are given the opportunity to learn from featured keynote speakers and leaders on our main stage, hundreds of concurrent educational sessions and networking events in various formats, and a massive CareerTech Expo. The conference will offer a full in-person event.

The concurrent educational sessions offer fresh insights and cover timely topics in high-quality secondary and postsecondary CTE and specific content areas, including agricultural education, business and marketing, career academies, counseling and career development, family and consumer sciences, engineering and technology, health science, trade and industrial education, work-based learning and more.
Funding: This item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Local Control and Accountability Plan Fund, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Out-of-State Conference Request for Robert Brough, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Dian Martin, Director of Learning Support Services, Julie Zierold, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and select certificated and classified employees to attend the 2022 Association for Career Technical Education's National CareerTech Vision 2022 Conference, November 30 - December 3, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
