Summary:
|
In accordance with California Education Code 5340, the County Superintendent of Schools provided notice to the governing boards of schools and community college districts that a consolidated election is required to be held on November 8, 2022.
Resolution 43:21-22 - Order of Election is attached. It contains the specifications of the Election Order and Request for Consolidation. Upon adoption of the resolution, a copy will be submitted to the Riverside County Superintendent of Schools and the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.
An election calendar for the governing board member election of November 8, 2022, has been prepared by the Riverside County Registrar of Voters. Selected dates from the calendar are as follows:
July 1, 2022: (130 days prior to election) Deadline for County Superintendent of Schools to notify governing boards, in writing, regarding the compulsory consolidation of school district elections.
July 8, 2022: (123 days prior to election) Last date for District governing boards to submit the Order of Election Resolution with Specifications concurrently to the County Superintendent of Schools and the Registrar of Voters.
July 18, 2022: (113 days prior to election) Earliest date for filing a Declaration of Candidacy for governing board member.
August 12, 2022: (88 days prior to election): Final date for filing of a Declaration of Candidacy for governing board member.
November 8, 2022: Election Day
December 9, 2022: (2nd Friday in December following the election) Beginning of term of office for newly elected board members. Oath of office must be executed prior to taking office.
