Reso NO. 24_23-24 Piggyback from TIPS CoOp for Edmentum.pdf
Summary: The Interlocal Purchasing System (TIPS), as the lead agency for the Texas Region 8 Education Service Center, conducted a competitive bidding process to purchase Technology Solutions, Products, and Services. The Perris Union High School District’s participation in the TIPS Cooperative Purchasing Program allows us to utilize various Master Agreements entered into through TIPS. The District wishes to purchase technology solutions, products, and services, such as the Edmentum Software, in accordance with TIPS Agreement number 230105 as awarded to Edmentum. The Edmentum Software is a standards-based online learning program grounded in a tradition of solid research, sound pedagogy, and applied innovation. They develop a rigorous, relevant curriculum that challenges students with a 21st-century approach. The courses offered will be from the approved list of A-G courses from the UC/CSU system. In addition, we will have the opportunity to offer Career Technical Education (CTE) courses that do not have either enough students registered or a qualified teacher available. The program also allows the opportunity to access struggling students and create a program that meets their needs. The District has utilized Edmentum for the past few years as a credit recovery, CTE, and intervention program. The ability to leverage this contract is in the District’s best interest. The term of this Cooperative Agreement is for five (5) years, from May 5, 2023, through May 31, 2028. The District requested a quote for services commencing on September 15, 2024, when the current contract expires, through June 30, 2027, at a total cost of $449,290.60. Adoption of Resolution No. 24:23-24 would allow the use of the TIPS Cooperative Contract, RFP number 230105, as awarded to Edmentum for this purchase.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 operating budgets funded through Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 24:23-24 - Resolution Authorizing Piggybacking for Purchase of the Edmentum Software.
