Summary: On March 18, 2022, the California Military Institute Charter School and the California Military Institute Teachers Association (CMITA) reached a Tentative Agreement (TA).

Pursuant to Government Code ยง 3547, the Parties sunshined initial proposals for negotiations on a successor to the certificated collective bargaining agreement. After six (6) negotiation sessions, the Parties reached a three-year collective bargaining agreement for a time period beginning July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2024.

The major provisions of the TA include an ongoing four-percent (4%) salary increase that will be applied to all salary schedules for all certificated employees in paid status as of February 1, 2022, retroactive to July 1, 2021. Additionally, all unit members will receive a one-time off-schedule payment equal to three and one-half percent (3.5%) of their 2021-22 base salary placement as of February 1, 2022. This off-schedule payment shall be paid on or before the June 2022 pay warrant for those unit members in a paid status as of May 1, 2022. The Agreement also includes a second on schedule increase of two percent (2%) effective July 1, 2022, and a third on schedule two percent (2%) increase effective July 1, 2023.

Further details of this Agreement are included in the attached document.
