Summary:

The District's Educational Services Department has made recommendations for updates in our district-wide course catalog. We are submitting a new Career Technical Education(CTE) course in the RCOE Leadership Sector: RCOE Career Readiness for Middle School. This course would not meet the A-G requirement as it is a middle school course.
RCOE Career Readiness for Middle School will provide students with essential skills to make informed and satisfying career decisions. Strategies and skills for occupational and educational exploration, decision-making, and goal setting are developed. A realistic career action plan is developed using sound guidelines, strategies, and practices for successful career planning within a changing global economy and contemporary workplace. The California Career Technical Education Foundation Standards are thoroughly integrated into the course competencies.
This course is for students in middle school and falls under the leadership pathway.
The Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services has approved the above course.
