Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District entered into an Agreement with Dora J. Dome Law Offices (DDL) to provide a legal training presentation on Title IX 2020 updates. Services include online access to Title IX 2020 Updates for 40 participants at a cost of $10,000; one (1) two-hour virtual Title IX 2020 follow-up training session on November 7, 2023, at a cost of $2,000; and Title IX 2020 form templates at a cost of $250; for a total cost of $12,250.00.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX) is a federal law that prohibits sex-based discrimination in all educational programs and activities, including athletic programs. No person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity operated by the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD). Title IX protects all participants in Perris Union High School District educational programs and activities, including students, parents, employees, and job applicants. PUHSD does not discriminate on the basis of sex. Discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment and sexual violence.
The term of this Agreement shall be from October 1, 2023, through June 30, 2024, for a total cost of $12,250.
This item is being brought before the Board as ratification in order to meet the state and federal-mandated training requirements.
