Summary
:
The District's Educational Services Department has made recommendations for updates in our district-wide course catalog. When a course is discovered to be outdated or lack sufficient information, then a request is sent to the teacher(s) to update the course. At this time we are submitting a revision for the WEB Crew Leadership course.
WEB Crew Leadership was revised to include grades 5-7 as it previously was only available to 8th grade students. This course is a two semester course. WEB Crew Leadership is intended to give students an opportunity to explore interpersonal and mass communications as they assist in ameliorating the school community through mentorship. Through this class students will become more empowered peer leaders as they hone their public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. The course goes above and beyond its primary intended purpose as a middle school transition program that provides a foundation for student leadership and a pathway for students interested in high school leadership through the Link Crew programs.
The above courses have been approved by the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services.
