Summary:
|
The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act of 2006 increases the focus on the academic achievement of Career Technical Education students, strengthens the connections between secondary and postsecondary education, and improves state and local accountability.
The federal government required the California Department of Education to submit a State plan in conjunction with the California Community College Chancellor's Office to present a broad and bold vision for Career Technical Education (CTE).
Each Local Educational Agency (LEA) that receives Perkins V funding is also required to update its CTE plan. The District's CTE plan addresses the core requirements of the State plan and focuses on a comprehensive approach to meeting California's changing workforce needs. The plan focuses on preparing all students for career and academic success, postsecondary education, and adult roles and responsibilities.
The District will be receiving an allocation of $306,779 in federal funds for the 2024-25 school year.
