Summary: Renaissance STAR Math assessments provide teachers and staff with standards-based diagnostic and screening assessments to identify students who need additional support and intervention.   Renaissance provides the following services: - Screening: Makes the most of instructional time by knowing who is performing above or at benchmark and who may need additional support or intervention. Teachers can see valid, reliable data immediately after testing. Know how students perform against school, district, or state benchmarks so needs can be prioritized and resources are allocated more effectively. - Goal Setting: An embedded, research-based goal-setting tool helps teachers set reasonable, attainable goals. - Progress Monitoring - Monitors students’ progress toward goals throughout the school year. Teachers can see if students in RTI/MTSS are responding to intervention in time to adjust instruction, see which students are meeting their goals, and determine if they are responding to intervention with easy-to-interpret reports. - Standards Mastery: Renaissance dashboards show a unified measure of skill mastery based on state standards. Data from Star Assessments, along with instruction and practice activities, combine to provide a single, comprehensive view of student progress and growth. - Achievement Monitoring: Monitors achievement and growth with one report. Student Growth Percentile (SGP) scores show precisely how much students are growing, showcasing changes in scores between testing events. The Star Growth Report uses growth norms and SGP to show if growth was below, above, or on par with expectations. Six (6) hours of remote professional development to teacher leaders and program administrators every year. The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2025; for a total cost of $66,920.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Renaissance for the purchase of additional math assessment license subscriptions.
