ERATE Structured Cabling RFP_23-24.pdf
Summary: To improve overall network performance and ensure the ongoing success of the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) academic programs, the District is rewiring the network for parts of California Military Institute. This work will include new cables, both copper and fiber optic, and relocation of IDF racks/cabinets. This project is eligible to receive E-Rate Funds. The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund makes discounts available to eligible schools and libraries for telecommunication services, internet access, and internal connections. PUHSD can be discounted from 60 to 90 percent depending upon the service and District eligibility. The E-Rate program is intended to ensure that schools and libraries have access to affordable telecommunications and information services. To ensure a fair and open competition, E-Rate funding applicants (“districts”) are required to post an initial Federal Communication Commission (FCC) Form 470 on Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) E-Rate Productivity Center (EPC) portal website and then wait at least 28 days after posting the Description of Services Requested & Certification Form 470 before selecting a service provider, executing any contracts, or signing and submitting the Services Order and Certification Form (Form 471). The District posted FCC form 470, as required. The E-rate Form 471 filing window closes March 31, 2023. School Districts must select the most cost-effective provider of the desired products or services eligible for support, with price as the primary factor. The District is recommending the award of RFP #020223-05 for the District Structured Cabling Services to AMS.NET in the amount of $92,595.69.
Funding: The cost for this item is contingent upon approved funding for the 2023-24 E-Rate year and will be included in the operating budget funded through the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees award RFP #020223-05 - E-Rate Structured Cabling Services to AMS.NET.
