Summary:
|
The "RTM School Facilities and Safety Congress," in partnership with the RTM K-12 National Advisory Board, is a private, invite-only forum to share stories and collaborate in creative problem-solving to tackle issues schools face in light of current circumstances. Over 100 district leaders nationwide, at or above the director level within the Operations, Facilities, Maintenance, and Safety Departments, will attend. The invitation includes paid registration, two nights of hotel accommodations, meals, and events. The District would be responsible for one additional night of hotel accommodation based on the distance traveled and the cost of flights.
The events of the RTM School Facilities and Safety Congress focus on school building modernization, air quality, budgeting, funding inequities, optimizing maintenance processes, safety training for staff (training for lockdowns, evacuations, active shooter situations, etc.), and creating flexible learning environments to promote student wellness. Alongside the Facilities topics, we will have sessions designed around physical security and support for mental health as part of incident prevention strategies and training on emergency response and threat assessments. The District is in a unique position to contribute to the conversation as Facilities and Risk Management in the District regularly collaborate to ensure that the needs of instructional programs are met.
