Summary:
|
In the District’s ongoing effort to ensure adequate resources to educational programs and to meet the guidelines of at least 10Gbps internet service, the Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) would like to exercise the one (1) year contract extension with Crown Castle to provide a managed high-speed Wide Area Network (WAN). These data connections provide the school sites with point-to-point communications for district and internet infrastructure.
The term of this Agreement shall be from February 4, 2022, through June 30, 2023, at a total cost of $38,500. The term of the Services provided shall be from September 1, 2022, through August 30, 2023, for Liberty High School and July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, for all other District sites. The California Military Institute (CMI) will contribute a pro-rata share based on their percentage of staff and student totals.
Utilization of the contract is contingent upon approved funding for the 2022-2023 E-Rate years, and the District is under no obligation to proceed with the recommended contract. Costs to the District can be discounted from 60 percent to 90 percent, dependent upon the service and District eligibility.
This item is being brought before the Board as ratification due to CSM Consulting’s (district E-Rate Consultant) need to process the District’s Category 1 Application for E-Rate funding.

The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the General Fund, and contingent upon approved funding for the 2022-2023 E-Rate years.
