Earth Systems Pacific Agreement.LHS RR Project_5.17.2023.pdf
Summary: On August 20, 2014, the Perris Union High School District entered into an Agreement for geotechnical exploration and testing with Earth Systems Pacific (Earth Systems) for the Liberty High School Project. Now that the District is moving forward with the construction of the Liberty High School Restroom Addition Project, the District has requested a proposal from Earth Systems for geotechnical and materials testing and special inspection services. The District recommends entering into an Agreement with Earth Systems to perform these services based on their previous involvement, critical knowledge of the Liberty High School Project, and their highly technical skills related to geotechnical and materials testing and special inspection services. Title 24, Part 1, Section 4-335 requires that tests of geotechnical conditions and materials for construction projects under the jurisdiction of the Division of State Architects (DSA) be performed by testing facilities acceptable to the DSA. Earth System’s services will include preliminary setup, soil compaction testing, laboratory conformance testing, concrete and steel sampling/testing, and masonry special inspections during the construction of the Restroom Addition Project. These services will be provided at an estimated cost of $53,741.70. The term of this Agreement shall be from May 17, 2023, and shall terminate once the services have been fully performed and accepted by the District.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 operating budgets funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Earth Systems Pacific for geotechnical and materials testing and special inspection services required for the Liberty High School Restroom Addition Project.
