Cars for Schools MOU (2022-2025).pdf
Summary: The Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) would like to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to allow one of its contracted dismantlers to provide the District with vehicles that have been retired through either the Bureau’s Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) or the Air Resources Board’s Enhanced Fleet Modernization Program (EFMP). This MOU will enable the transfer of ownership of vehicles through a zero-dollar bill of sale. The vehicles acquired will be used at the school sites solely for the purpose of technician training in the District’s Automotive Program. These vehicles shall be returned to the dismantler prior to May 31, 2025, for disposition by the dismantler. Any costs incurred will be limited to the pickup and dropoff of vehicles to and from the dismantler, and shall be covered by the Career Tech Ed Grant. This Agreement shall be for approximately two (2) years, from February 16, 2023, through May 31, 2025.
Funding: No fiscal impact.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Memorandum of Understanding with the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Automotive Repair for participation in the Bureau’s Consumer Assistance program or the Air Resources Board’s Enhanced Fleet Modernization program.
