Summary: The Board of Trustees previously approved and the District has undertaken the facilities project known as the “Liberty High School Project,” which consists of the construction of a new high school facility.

During its March 20, 2019 meeting, the Board of Trustees ratified the contract with TriMark in the amount of $718,302, for all food service equipment required in the Liberty High School Project to include the main kitchen, concession buildings and satellite kitchen. The equipment included in TriMark’s original bid was based on the plans and specifications developed by Baker Nowicki Design Studio for the Liberty High School Project. These plans were developed in coordination with former Nutrition Services staff. Upon review of these plans by the current Nutrition Services Director and staff, the District has requested additional changes to the kitchen equipment. This change includes the necessary changes to sink and dishwashing facilities, stainless surfaces, modifications to a service counter and the addition of a pizza oven. Change Order 22-003 is based on a comprehensive review of the kitchen facility plans by the District's Director of Nutrition Services along with the Director of Facilities. This change is necessary to ensure the kitchen equipment meets the needs of the Nutrition Services Department at Liberty High School as well as the Health Department permit requirements for the concession buildings. The cost of this change is to be included in Change Order 22-003 for TriMark in the amount of $98,399.65.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2020-21 operating budget funded through Various Facilities Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees ratify Change Order 22-003 for Bid Category 22 - TriMark for the Liberty High School Project.
