Summary:
|
The Perris Union High School District would like to enter into an Agreement with Dr. Angela Clark-Louque to provide professional development for administrators, families, and staff. This proposed development will align with the District's belief in creating high-quality, relevant learning opportunities in a safe and caring environment.
The professional development will be facilitated by Dr. Angela Clark-Louque, co-author of Equity Partnerships: A Culturally Proficient Guide to Family, School, and Community Engagement. The framework for this development is grounded in the Cultural Proficiency's 7 C's Strategies for Family and Community Engagement: Collaboration, Communication, Caring/Compassion, Community, Connectedness, Culture, and Collective Responsibility.
This program intends for school leaders, teachers, families, and staff to learn engagement strategies based on the conceptual framework of the Cultural Proficiency's 7 C's Model. Using guidance and feedback, participants will be coached through the 7 C's Model of Engagement. The sessions will utilize a discovery process for participants to learn to communicate and collaborate to address diverse student needs at the school site and within the school district.
The term of this Agreement shall be from January 18, 2024, through June 30, 2024, at a cost not to exceed $12,500.

The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through the Ethnic Studies Fund and Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the General Fund.
