Summary:

Andrew Ellis, Liberty High School Teacher and Cross Country Coach requests approval to attend the Tom Laythe XC Invitational hosted by Bella Vista High School in Folsom, California, September 29-October 1, 2023. Liberty High School Cross Country team was invited to take twenty (20) varsity student-athletes, ten (10) males and ten (10) females, to Folsom, California, to compete in the Tom Laythe Invitational, hosted by Bella Vista High School. This invite has over a hundred schools competing and some of Northern California's best teams. This is a unique opportunity for the Liberty High School Cross Country student-athletes to gain valuable experience preparing to defend their League title and make a deep run in CIF.
Aside from the invitational, this is also an opportunity for our student-athletes to bond, collaborate and build a deep culture of trust and hard work, pushing them closer to their goal of a league championship and CIF title. The student-athletes will be housed in two separate rental properties, one for male athletes and the other for female athletes. Twenty (20) student-athletes and three (3) adult chaperones will travel to Folsom, California, in district vans.

The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Liberty High School's Cross Country Associated Student Body Fund, not the General Fund.
