Summary: The ​Perris Union High School District is requesting to adopt Resolution No. 04:23-24, authorizing the District to utilize the Bid extension of the Moreno Valley Bid #20-21-18 as awarded to Sunrise Produce for the purchase of fresh and processed produce for the Seamless Summer Program, School Breakfast Program, and the National School Lunch Program. The original bid was awarded at the Moreno Valley Unified School District Board meeting on June 29, 2021, and the contract extension for the 2023-24 school year was approved on May 25, 2023. The District has determined that it is in its best interest to contract with Sunrise Produce through the 2023-24 school year. The estimated cost for the 2023-24 school year is approximately $150,000 based on the estimated quantities for the prices listed on the bid.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through the Nutrition Services Fund, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees adopt Resolution No. 04:23-24 - Resolution Authorizing Piggybacking for the Purchase of Fresh and Processed Produce.
