Summary: The Perris Union High School District would like to enter into an Agreement with Paxton/Patterson to purchase a College and Career Ready Lab to engage students in authentic problem-based learning experiences as they discover their interests and aptitudes at Pinacate Middle School. The lab will include the following project-based stations: Computer-Aided Drafting & Design, Computer Graphics & Game Development, Emergency Medical Technician, Flight & Drone Technology, Forensic Science, Intro to Engineering Design, Intro to Health Science Careers, Materials Processing & Design, Nursing, Personal Finance, Robotics, Sports Medicine, Structural Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, and Video Production.

This Agreement also includes the purchase and installation of the lab furniture, Paxton/Patterson Content Learning Management System, and professional development for teachers.

The College & Career Ready Labs provide the best college and career preparation for America’s youth allowing students to utilize industry-standard tools and equipment as they explore college and careers.

The term of this Agreement shall be for five (5) years, from May 19, 2022, through May 18, 2027, for a total cost of $93,919.27.
Funding: The cost for this item is included in the 2021-22 operating budget funded through Various COVID Funds, not the General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Paxton/Patterson for a College and Career Ready Lab at Pinacate Middle School.
