Summary: The Perris Union High School District (PUHSD) would like to continue working with the ANEW Project in the 2022-23 school year to inspire and empower students and staff at the California Military Institute (CMI). Alumnew is a team-building organization that focuses on developing individuals through a series of talks, project-based activities, and leadership initiative workshops. The program is designed to inspire and empower students and staff to create and cultivate cohesive learning environments on school campuses. The series of workshops, professional development in-services, and activities directly support the development of each student and staff member to reach their full potential.

The impact of the pandemic has created a high need to address social-emotional wellness for both our students and our staff. The long-term effects we are experiencing with behaviors and mental health have had a significant impact on the campus culture. The ANEW project customizes programs to meet the needs of the district.

The ANEW Project will specifically target the following areas with students:
Creating and empowering students to be leaders, communication skills, developing a positive mindset, establishing goals, dealing with conflict, perseverance and grit, self-awareness, and Improving success

The ANEW Project will specifically target the following areas with staff:
Social-emotional well-being, team building, taking care of your team members, engaging students to be leaders, and inspiring learning

The term of this Agreement shall be from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023, for a total cost of $25,000.
Funding: The cost for this item will be included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Charter Local Control Accountability Plan Supplemental and Concentration Funds, not the Charter General Fund.
Recommendation: It is recommended that the Board of Trustees approve the Agreement with Alumnew to inspire and empower students and staff at the California Military Institute.
