Summary:
|
Cpt. David Sibley, the Senior Military Instructor, has submitted an overnight field trip request for CMI cadets to participate in the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy (NCOA) to be held at the California Military Institute, February 10-12, 2023. The purpose of NCOA is to train the cadets on how to become and lead as a non-commissioned officers within the California Cadet Corps and CMI. This academy will also teach them the core fundamentals of Non-Commissioned Officers, such as how to utilize leadership traits, train junior cadets, and work with them as non-commissioned officers. The NCO cadets will experience a safe, military-style learning environment. It is anticipated that approximately sixty-five (65) cadets will participate in the Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, with four (4) adults chaperoning. There is no cost for cadets attending the NCOA. The California Military Institute will provide room and board.
This item is being brought forward as ratification due to the site not submitting the request by the January board meeting deadline.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through the Charter General Fund.
