Summary:
|
The Hour Zero PreparED K-12 Emergency Preparedness Conference is an educational event in Edmonton, Alberta. The conference will be held on December 6, 7, and 8, 2022 and it immerses participants in emergency issues and activities relevant and realistic for K-12 schools. PreparED involves “live it to learn it” style sessions with interactive and engaging activities.
Over three days, participants work through an emergency exercise: allowing them the opportunity to practice their skills against a simulated event.
An instructor-led presentation starts each session, followed by the emergency teams responding to the ever-changing circumstances of an emergency that has struck the school district.
The scenario exercises both school-level and district-level responsibilities and needed response (2022 scenario is a catastrophic natural disaster event).
HZ preparED faculty comprises award-winning international professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of emergency preparedness.

The cost for this item is included in the 2022-23 operating budget funded through Safety Credits, not the General Fund.
