Summary:

The Perris Union High School District is requesting to adopt Resolution No. 43:22-23, authorizing the District to utilize the contract extension of Murrieta Valley Bid #03012021 as awarded to Gold Star Foods for the purchase of frozen, refrigerated, and dry foods for the Seamless Summer Program, School Breakfast Program, and the National School Lunch Program. The Bid was awarded at the Murrieta Valley Unified School District Board meeting on May 13, 2021, as a cooperative contract with the Perris Union High School District, Temecula Valley Unified School District, Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Menifee Union School District, and Perris Elementary School District. The District has determined that it is in its best interest to continue to contract with Gold Star Foods through the 2023-24 school year.
The cost for the 2023-24 school year is approximately $3,350,000 based on the estimated quantities for the prices listed on the bid.
The contract may be renewed annually upon mutual consent for up to two (2) additional one (1) year terms for a maximum of three (3) years, in accordance with Education Code Section 81644.

The cost for this item is included in the 2023-24 operating budget funded through Nutrition Services, not the General Fund.
