Summary:
|
The District would like to renew the contract with Oak Grove Center at the Ranch to provide breakfast and lunch to their students. Currently, charter schools are not required to provide meals to low income or students in need. The administration at Oak Grove Center at the Ranch understands that good nutrition and education go hand-in-hand. Charter schools have several options to provide meals to their students. Both Oak Grove and the District believe it is better to serve the students of our community from within the community.
The District agrees to provide meals in compliance with the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be prepared and picked up daily out of the kitchen at Pinacate Middle School. Each meal provided has been increased by twenty-five cents ($0.25) to cover the increased costs associated with labor and food costs. The contract stands to generate an estimated additional $30,000 for the 2022-23 school year for the Nutrition Services Department.
The term of this Agreement shall be for one (1) year from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.
